Dawson Brown, escorted by parents Melissa and Patrick Brown

This is Dawson’s second year with the Barons. His favorite memory is beating East Cobb Texas. Dawson was a 3 year Varsity baseball player and in his sophomore year earned All Region as well as the Silver Slugger’s Award for ending the season with a region batting average of .630 and non region .644. Dawson has also received the Presidential Volunteer Service Gold Medal award for having over 300 hours of volunteer time. Dawson has been awarded academic scholarships for college totaling over $100,000. His future plans include attending the University of Tampa to study Business or Sports Management.

Comments about Dawson include

  • The big Teddy Bear! You could not tell if we were winning or losing when he was around, because it was just a joy every time.
  • His joy reminds of the joy that Christ brings, just knowing Dawson was around, you just knew things were going to work out.

His advice to younger athletes is: Don’t let your failures get in the way of achieving your goals in life.

His favorite verse is Psalms 91:11 “for He will put his angels in charge of you to guard you in all your ways.”
