Dreslinksi After the Barons
Another alumnus of the Greater Gwinnett Christian Barons is continuing the game in college. Joseph (Joe) Dreslinki came south every Spring to play for the Barons.
Dreslinki started in the spring of 2015 with the GGC Barons and returned for five seasons. In order to maintain his homeschool status and play baseball, Joe chose to travel from Michigan every winter and spring to Georgia. Despite surgery on both of his hips during his sophomore year, Joe was a starting varsity catcher every spring season. The Christian influence, team bonding and quality coaching kept Joe returning every year to the Barons team. He loved his teammates and time in Georgia and misses it already.
Joe always maintained a high level of academics while in high school receiving a national award in Latin and achieving the Dean’s list while dual enrolling at a local college. He also kept busy playing baseball year round and training younger baseball players when given the chance. Swing dancing, musical theatre, and singing were hobbies that Joe enjoyed while in high school.
Currently playing for the Jets at Jackson College in Michigan, Dreslinski dreams of serving baseball players and other athletes persue their dreams. His goal to be a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine will open doors in the field of Sports Medicine.
Joe is still at catcher for Jackson Jets with a high batting average and consistent playtime. He has already been looking to move to a four year institution this fall in order to focus on his academics while still playing the sport that he loves. He will graduate this spring with his Associates of Science from Jackson.
