Senior Spotlight- Andrew Shadburn
Andrew played 5 years with the Barons. His favorite memory is closing out the state championship game last year.
During his high school baseball career, he was named all state 3 times and all region 3 times, including the 8th grader to have been named for the 2018 season. Andrew served as an ambassador at Fideles Christian School and he will graduate with 18 college credit hours from dual enrollment.
His favorite verse is Romans 1:16: For I will not be ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God for salvation. First to the Jew and then to the gentile.
Andrew’s teammates say about him:
- After playing with Shad for over 6 years I can say he is one of the most dedicated and talented catchers I’ve ever thrown to. His knowledge of not just pitches and plays, but also of my pitching mechanics puts him far above other players. Not only has he developed a great swing for himself, but he has also made it his life goal to fix my swing which he finally accomplished this year!
- He is such a great teammate. Always wanting to help his fellow Barons with their swings or whatever else they’re struggling with in the game. He’s definitely helped me out a lot over the past couple years.
- Shaddy is a great leader while still maintaining a fun cool guy attitude. He mentors when he sees the need to and is a very talented baseball player.
- He is someone I look up too. My dream is to play college baseball, and seeing him commit to North Georgia is very inspirational. He’s a great leader for the team and is the best catcher I’ve ever played with.
Andrew will be attending and playing baseball at the University of North Georgia. To younger players he gives this advice: Listen to those around you. There is so much information you can get just from listening to what is going on around you. Play with heart, and the results will follow.
Congrats Shaddy!
