Senior Spotlight- Luke Roman

Luke Pitching

Luke has played with the Barons for 4 years. His favorite memory is winning the 2021 State Championship.

During high school, Luke received the highest award at his school for overall virtue, several academic awards due to excellent grades and testing, and served as president for his school’s honor society. His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Luke’s teammates say he always has a great attitude in any situation and cheers on his teammates. And that he is a crafty left-handed pitcher with great work ethic, attitude and leadership. Luke can get ground balls and flyouts like no other pitcher. He is a constant out machine and mixes in some strikeouts with that slow curve that has guys either swinging out of their shoes or freezes them. He is always willing to lay down the bunt and sacrifice for the team no matter what. These past 2 years he has really stepped it up at the plate and become a key part of our lineup.

Luke plans to attend Christendom College in Virginia, prepare for a teaching/coaching career, and continue to play baseball.

To younger players he says: Always work hard and trust in the Lord, knowing you were made for greatness.

Congrats Luuuuuke!
